Open House at the Lafayette Durfee House

On Saturday April17 2010 the Lafayette Durfee House, 94 Cherry Street, Fall River, MA, will be having an open house in celebration of Patriot’s Day and the commemoration of the 235th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. AKA “the Shot heard Round the World”

This is the home of Col Joseph Durfee who led the Fall River militia during the War for Independence and was frequently visited by the Marquis de Lafayette during this time period.

Displays will include clothing, furniture, weaponry medical and surgical instruments and much more. Please visit our website at www.lafayettedurfeehouse.org.

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.
