We have just found out that the Covell house in Newport, RI, where Lizzie stayed after her acquittal, is now a private residence. It is no longer a B&B and so you are no longer able to visit, tour, or expect public access. As a private residence, I hope all of you will consider what it would be like to have strangers stopping by your home and asking to see the inside at any time of the day. Please take this news into consideration if planning any visits to Newport to visit Lizzie related sites. Here is a photo of the house I took in October of 2004.
