The day before the 4th of July was a sort of independence day for Maplecroft. For the first time in many, many years, the house no longer sports the name of the former owner or his business on the front of the house. Taking down those letters is just part of the many restorations that Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft is undergoing.
The removal of the letters is not a sign of disrespect for the former owner, but quite the opposite. The house now is its own entity. More like it was in days when Lizzie Borden inhabited it. And there are more restorations in store for the old house. Stay tuned to see other wonderful things in the near future!
