Lizzie Borden Presentation in Hancock, NH

On Tuesday, July 14, at 7 p.m., the Hancock Town Library in Hancock, NH, will present a program on Lizzie Borden. Borden of Fall River, Mass., was tried and acquitted for the brutal murder of her father and step-mother on August 4, 1892. The resulting trial was a global sensation and secured Borden a place in American history. This lecture will explore the myths of Lizzie Borden. Richard Behrens is the author of the “Lizzie Borden, Girl Detective” series of mysteries and a frequent lecturer on notorious American women and silent film comedy at Keene State College. The event is free and open to all.

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.
