Killer Doll of Lizzie Borden.

Killer Dolls Attack!

I have to admit it. I collect Lizzie kitsch.

I own a Lizzie Borden bobblehead (and sell them too!), a large and a small Lizzie Borden Living Dead Doll (these are great and I highly recommend them, but buy them in boxes, sealed, for the collectable value), some home-made and artist created items such as bookmarks, notecards, a Lizzie decorated purse, pinbacks, buttons, paintings, t-shirts, original cartoon stills, some hatchet earrings, a hatchet keychain, a hatchet moneyclip, and even this really cool boxed tableau vivant with Lizzie Borden as Little Red Riding Hood!

I love a good odd buy.

A few months ago I bought a large Lizzie doll, one that was hand designed, made up and decorated as a killing Lizzie. She is dressed in silken black fabric with a veil and a hat decorated with black feathers.

Her hands and face are blood-spattered and she carries a hatchet in the front of her garment, tucked away. I thought she was very cool and a good price. But now I sort of wish I hadn’t. Truth be told, she scares me.

It is not that her eyes follow me as I walk about the room or anything. It is just that the once great idea of having a large killer doll in my collection seemed like such a good idea. Now that she is here I am constantly reminded of Chucky. Like it isn’t good karma to own a killer doll this size.

Killer Doll of Lizzie Borden. And now another (different) killer Lizzie doll one is on sale on eBay. This one is of a blonde Lizzie, of course with the obligatory bloody hatchet in her hand. I think it depicts a dead Lizzie. These two pictures are from that sale.

She also has the bloody hands and dress, but this one has black blood lips and sunken black eyes. She also has clenched fists and looks like she just beat up someone.

I am all for supporting the arts, so if this one appeals to you and you have money to burn, better snatch it up! Starting bid is $95!

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.

Here we go. Enjoy.
