It appears that the rich person from the south who came all the way up here to look at the house, hire a private home inspector, and “think about it”, has decided not to purchase Maplecroft after all. Her car was in the driveway this morning, and then when she left, Mr. Dube put out the old FOR SALE sign again.
We should take up a collection and buy the dear home as a collective.
Maybe he upped his last recorded price of $499,000. Who knows. Could be not all of the Lizzie Borden items are still with the house. Could be he drives a hard bargain.
I had high hopes for this sale. It would be nice to see a new owner there who cared about the house in more appropriate ways. Oh well. At least she got a new coat of paint!
