More changes, for the better, have come to Maplecroft. The new owner has decided to rightfully sock some big bucks into refurbishing Lizzie Borden’s back porch. The transformation has taken a few weeks, with days off for rain, but today the finishing touches have been applied.<\/p>\n

The spindles are made of cedar and are of very high quality. The porch posts have been refitted and enlarged and attached properly\u2014this time around. And the all-important railing has been added to the steps leading to the back door (which includes all but one step being replaced).<\/p>\n

The crew of workers were quite experienced and friendly. This Borden girl is happy with the results. I hope you are as well.<\/p>\n

Next up, I hear, is painting, including a traditional blue ceiling for the porch (a New England thing). \u00a0More updates as that occurs.<\/p>\n
