OK here's the one I heard.

My friends, who I visited in Charleston, had another home previous to this one.
They are skeptics, but told a very scary story about that house.

Very soon after buying and moving in they were awakened by huge crashing sounds from downstairs. My friend said he thought they were being robbed and decided to stay in the bedroom and wait it out. The crashing finally stopped and when they went down there was nothing. No one had gotten in, nothing was disturbed. This happened a few times.

Once he heard noises and did go downstairs and all the kitchen drawers were open!

His wife heard noises on the stairs, of clomping feet going up and down, while she was in bed. She thought her husband had come home. She called out and there was no answer. She called her husband on the phone and he answered, still at work. That also happened a few times. THen they got a dog, they told me, and everything stopped!

The house was built in a place that had once been bombarded with cannon shot way long ago in a battle.

That was very scary, Kat! God, the wife called out??? Just think if it answered her! Funny how it went away when they got a dog. Animals do sense things sometimes. Hmmm ...

Here is one I don't believe is a coincidence:

Years ago when my father was very sick and dying, I wanted to pray for him. But what the heck would I say in the prayer? After some thought, I decided to ask God to "please let him have a good night".

The next morning, the phone rang and my sister answered. The call did not last long, and when she hung up I asked her what was said. She said it was a nurse from the hospital and she said, "He had a good night."

(He died a year and a half later.)

That's not a scary story- but that's a good story!
Thank you Sherry!

For Halloween I thought there might be creepy stories members have to share?

Okay, I've got one thats kind of spooky that happened to me this last Sunday night. I was home at my place and went to bed as per usual only to be woken up some time later by what felt like two small dogs getting up from being cuddled by my side, walking across the bed and then, individually, jumping off the bed. Now my first thought upon being woken up was that I was still at my fiance's house and had fallen asleep on his bed. And that his two dogs had been sleeping cuddled with me like they always do and that they were alerted by something and they had gotten up to investigate.

I bolted upright thinking, "Oh no, I have to get up and go home. Its late, I have to get to bed, I have work in the morning!" only to realize after a couple of seconds that I was home in my own bed. The question is, who were the two small dogs? Old pets of mine that decided to visit? Trust me, I was wide awake as these dogs both moved from my side and walked across the bed. Not really scary, but, kind of eerie, don't you think?

Well, I have an eerie/scary and highly emotional story...

For several months before my father pasted away, I kept having a reoccurring dream in which I was seated in the passenger seat of the first car directly behind a hearse; I had no idea whose body was in the coffin. I would awaken from these dreams with a mixture of emotions for whomever the person was in the coffin.

On the day my father died, he had prepared and mailed his and my mothers income taxes, along with completing a couple of other odd tasks, which were as it turned out, in preparation for his death. His last request was to see his four children that day. My parents lived about an hours drive away from me, my (first) husband refused to let me take our only car and he was not about to drive me to my parents home - period. My three siblings did have the opportunity to fulfill my father's dying wish of seeing his children. I had my reoccurring dream again that night, only this time when I woke up I had an overwhelming mixture of emotions for whomever the person was in the coffin. Because I was not allowed to honor my father's request, I was absolutely devastated when I received the phone call letting me know my father had died during the night. As strange as it may be, I did not put the two together, that is, I did not come to the realization that the unknown person in the coffin of my reoccurring dream was my father.

The night before my father's funeral, I again had the reoccurring dream and again I had overwhelming emotions for whomever the unknown person was in the coffin. I still did not realize the unknown person in the coffin of my reoccurring dream was my father. Never once did it occur to me that there was a connection; it was as if the dream was totally separate from the death of my father - one didn't have anything to do with the other.

On the day of my father's funeral, I did everything humanly possible to avoid being seated in the passenger seat of the first car directly behind the hearse. In spite of my fruitless attempts, guess where I ended up being seated? My dream had finally come true, and the realization hit me, and hit me hard, that the unknown person in the coffin was my father!!! I was left with very deep, disturbing feelings. I have not had the dream since, however, this is not the end of the story...

I went back to work the day after my father's funeral; at that time in my life, I was working as a Pharmacy Technician. One day, within a week of my father's funeral, I was working alone in the Pharmacy, filling the medication orders in preparation for the Pharmacist to check, when the air in the room in which I was working became cold, although the heat was on. I then felt a cold hand being placed on top of my right shoulder, as if someone was behind me. In that instance, all of the disturbing feeling vanished and were replaced with the most peaceful feeling I have ever felt in my life.

Thanks, and you're welcome, Bob. It was quite an experience, to say the least.

Twinsrwe-I'm so glad you shared that story! A similar thing happened to me after my girlfriend passed away in her sleep at the age of 41. I just couldn't cope for several months after. I would break down in tears several times a day. It was extremely difficult.

One night, I was awoken by a firm, sweet kiss to my lips. I was awake, but didn't open my eyes right away. I was SURE it was my son, wanting to join us in bed. I was actually thinking that if I kept my eyes closed, he'd give up trying to wake me and just go back to his room. But the pressure on my lips was l o n g, and I decided to open my eyes to greet him. It wasn't my son, but a small, hazy figure that released the kiss and dissappeared immediately. When it did, what lingered was the most peaceful calm I've ever experienced!!

Since that night, I was able to let my friend go. That experience had God's fingerprints all over it.

WOW, Cheryl, you're right, your story is very similar to mine!!! I do have a couple of other experiences that are quite similar to the one posted, only I didn't have to wait so long for the results.

I also want to say that you're quite welcome and thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I truly believe that God had a lot to do with my experience, as well. It's funny, I knew that there was something in the works when I kept having the same dream over and over, I just didn't know what it was until I was directed to sit in the passenger seat of the first car directly behind a hearse.

I've mentioned before that I have experiences related to people who have parted---way too many to go into in detail here.

Quite a few happen in dreams. Many more, however, have happened while I've been awake. All of them are different. Some of them I can only describe the experience as "God light".

It seems to me a LOT of people have these experiences at least once in their lives, esp connected to a passed loved one. It's a great gift to us.

I totally believe in ghosts, and it is sometimes to my detriment.

I have no dbout that I heard ghosts when my niece and I spent the night at the B&B --- my niece heard things, too (by the way, Shelley--- she thinks you are the tops!).

My first night home (I live alone)... I was wakened in the middle of the night by this otherwordly, high pitched, horrible moaning. I tried to sleep, but was unable to. I heard the moaning again...and again. I was saucer eyed. I was certain I must have brought home an unexpected *souvenir* in my luggage, which I promptly placed in the hallway. I didn't hear the noise again... until the next morning, when I discovered that an air conditioning unit outside my bedroom window had a bad belt!
