1st. 1883, Abraham Borden’s estate is disbursed into three equal parts: Andrew, Lurana, and BeBe (R28)

1st. 1887, Hannah Reagan appointed first Day Matron at the Central Police Station (R159)

2nd. 1849, Andrew Jackson Jennings (Lizzie’s attorney) is born in Fall River (R196)

2nd. 1892, Fried swordfish is served for dinner; supper is warmed-over fish, toasted bread, tea, cake, and cookies  (R90)

6th. 1892, Mayor Coughlin and Marshal Rufus Hilliard informs Lizzie that she is a suspect (R114)

10th. 1893, Emma and Lizzie purchase land and a house (#7) on the north side of French Street (R556)

11th. 1892, Lizzie Borden arrested (R155)

11th. 1892, Second autopsy conducted at Oak Grove Cemetery (Trial 921)

12th. 1892, Lizzie Borden arraigned, pleaded not guilty, is sent to Taunton Jail (R156)

14th. 1883, AJB buys his sister Lurana’s half of the Ferry Street lot for $3,000 (R553)

15th. 1909, Lizzie adds a 14’ x 15’ two story addition to Maplecroft at a cost of $1,000 (R287)

17th. 1893, Lizzie and Emma sell their half interest in the property on Fourth Street that Andrew and Abby purchased in 1887 to Sarah B. Whitehead and Priscilla S. Fish for “$1.00 and other good and valuable considerations” (R556)

20th. 1828, Charlotte Borden, sister of Andrew, dies at 3 years, 9 months of age (R3)

24th. 1870, Miss Hannah B. Nelson, housekeeper at Maplecroft from 1903 to 1908 is born in Sweden (R288)

25th. 1789, Phebe Davenport, first wife of Abraham Borden and mother of his children, is born (R3)

25th. 1825, Lurana, sister of Andrew, dies at 9 months of age (R3)

25th. 1892, Preliminary Hearing is held from August 25 to September 1

27th. 1838, Helen M. Brownell, whom Emma was visiting in Fairhaven during the murders of Abby and Andrew, is born (R83)

29th. 1855, Phoebe Ann Borden, sister of Andrew, dies at the age of 26 (R4)

30th. 1871, John Morse purchases 100-acre farm near Hastings, Iowa (R70)

September

4th. 1855, Joseph Carpenter, employee of Borden and Almy, is born in Fall River (R133)

7th 1893, Emma and Lizzie complete the move to Maplecroft (R286)

9th. 1857, George B. Harrington, only child of Hiram and Lurana, is born (R4)

13th. 1822, Andrew Jackson Borden, first born and only son of Abraham (24) and Phebe (33), is born in Fall River (R3)

17th. 1885, Fall River Hospital founded (R16)

17th. 1917, William Medley, Fall River Chief of Police, dies three days after auto accident at the age of 64 (R150)

18th. 1905, Lizzie purchases 18.95 square rods on the south side of French Street from Emma Lake (R559)

18th. 1909, a 14’ x 213’ wrap-around one-story porch is added to Maplecroft (R287)

28th. 1934, Charles Cook dies in Fall River at the age of 80 (R329)

29th. 1891, Rev. William Walker Jubb is installed as the 5th pastor of the Central Congregational Church in Fall River (R167)
