Quequechan Club is Closed
Another depressing event happened in Fall River today. The 116-year-old Quequechan Club has closed its doors due to lack of membership.
The Quequechan Club first opened on July 18, 1895, in the William Mason homestead at 306 N. Main St.
Once a men’s only social club, it drew the city’s upper class to wine and dine and discuss their business dealings. In its early years, members were commonly textile brokers, executives in cotton mills, attorneys, investors and doctors.
