The Chamber Pot Plot

There is speculation that the chamber pot could have been used to store the hatchet. It could have been filled with the same cleaning ingredients commonly used to get blood out of cloth at that time (bicarbonate soda, lye soap, saltpeter, vinegar). This would potentially help account for the lack of blood drop trails and the lack of blood on the handleless hatchet, if it had soaked in that cleaning solution between the murders.

I assume given how much money Emma and Lizzie spent on dresses, something as personal as the chamber pot would have been of high quality. I assume something like this or even nicer. I could be wrong. What does everyone think?

Expanding on this a bit with a bit of pure speculation, if Lizzie's and Emma's chamber pots weren't identical, with Emma being out of town for a couple of weeks, Lizzie could have used Emma's chamber pot for its normal use and walked around with hers configured for the murders.

I still give it a bit higher odds that the hatchet was hidden in the dress that "needed" a loop basted on being an idea way to put her in the exact position that the murder of Abby started, between the sewing machine and the NW corner of the bed.

100% agree that the sewing machine was Lizzie's true perch.

I think Lizzie wore an apron when she killed Abby. The apron was used to wrap/conceal the hatchet until she got to the sink to wash herself and the weapon of blood and brain matter.

I would be very surprised if Lizzie had any clue that blood soaks into wood grain. I don't think I would have thought of that until I took up this case and I'm several decades older than Lizzie was. My kids, nor my wife would know that tidbit. If I told them, they would nod that it made sense, but they wouldn't think of it naturally.
