This just in:

Scariest Places on Earth – ABC Family Channel
Alex Palermo of Boston’s Tremont Tearoom investigates and conducts a séance at the infamous Fall River home where Lizzie Borden allegedly became history’s first female hacker! Airtimes – 10/22, 10/23. 10/31 8PM and 9PM.

That is Saturday and Sunday?? I can't find anything else as the abcfamily site keeps saying I need plugins to view it that I already have. Can anyone else go further with this and confirm?

I also tried getting to their web site and could not get past that same point. I even downloaded and installed the flash player plugin (which I already had as well) and still could get no further.

In any case the ABC Family Channel is a premium channel on my carrier (Direct TV) and I have no intention of subscribing.

Stefani, every time I click on the new episode for Saturday or Sunday, it keeps going to a page about a family spending the night in Transylvania in the Castle Dracula. Is this where everyone else is getting stuck?

This just in from a newspaper in Norwich, CT.:

There are two new "Scariest Places on Earths" airing on ABC Family in the weeks leading up to Halloween as part of a slew of programming various networks are offering in the name of family friendlier frights. A family's adventure exploring Vlad the Impaler's castle in Transylvania airs 8 p.m. Saturday.

"Scariest Places on Earth" will also investigate some of America's most well known urban legends. Hosted by "The Exorcist" star Linda Blair, the episode takes viewers to Lizzie Borden's home in Fall River, Mass., and a West Virginia amusement park built on the site of an Indian massacre.

Both are part of ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween" marathon, which also includes nightly showings of scary or ghost-themed movies.

I'm soo disappointed! I'm not going to be able to watch it. I've been watching the previews for tonight's show since I watched Most Haunted Places last night, but I won't be home this evening! I've been trying to find someone to tape it for me but so far no dice. Talk about disappointment...did I say I was disappointed?

ABC Family is a premium cable channel. It isn't on regular ABC.

The show covered four (wasn't it four?) different 'urban legend' scary places: the Lizzie Borden B&B, some amusement park in the south, a seminary in Wisconsin, and a park in Denver that was built over a big graveyard.

The show is really rather bad in general. They ususally strap big cameras and lighting gear on a family and send them into some "haunted" place and have them spend the night. It is mostly a lot of screaming and yelling and close ups of scared faces. Not too much of actually proof of anything happening. It might be interesting to be one of the family members doing the overnight, but it sure isn't interesting or entertaining to watch them freak out. Not scary or anything. Of course, all the people walk away convinced they experienced a ghost or an evil presence of some kind. But you never see anything.

The Lizzie Borden segment was first, and again, was about 20 minutes long. It didn't seem over when it was over. I kept thinking they were going to come back to it so I watched the rest of the show. They didn't come back to it and it was a waste of my time to see the rest of the show.

They had Lee-ann listed as an "overnight guest" and not the owner. Dee told the apocryphal story of Lizzie killing Abby's cat with chloroform and going into the basement to chop its head off. This, I assume, was the lead in to the group of six who said that Andrew's bedroom was indeed haunted by a cat. They kept hearing a cat meowing.

They walked around the house with equipment after a psychic tried to stir up the ghosts. One thing of interest was one of those heat sensing cameras that seemed to see a body in abby's death spot but no one was there. Now if this really happened I would find it quite significant, but this show adds a ton of sound effects and it feels cut up into little pieces, with lots of short shots, that I couldn't really tell if this was true or not.

Same with the cat meowing. They add sounds to all the shows, stuff NOT actually heard, so one can never know if what you hear is what they heard.

The show is really awful. The group of six who stayed the night were insistent the place was totally haunted.

Oh, they intererviewed Dee and Micheal Martins, and Lee-ann made an appearance, and some guests (all college age kids) and some psychic, but other than that, no one I recognized or knew. They did this really bad thing with Michael, and I bet he wasn't too happy to see it. First they called him an historian, not curator of the FRHS. Then they did this still of him in B&W with his name underneath and historian title. The image they picked was not flattering and it made him look mean. I am sure it was for effect, but I would not have liked it if it were me.

Ok, my husband was kind enough to tape the show for me and now I have to say I'm very disappointed that I DID watch it. I almost wish I hadn't. It was awful. I also was very disappointed that the story with the cat was repeated. Is there even a basis in fact for this story at all? Can a source be provided? I get very disappointed to think that visitors to the house might be getting a tour that includes information not based in fact, if it is being perpetuated by members of the staff. It would actually make me think twice about wanting to take the tour of the place if the staff would appear to be unsure about the facts of the case. I'd rather just wander about on my own.

I would love to see a ghost just as much as the next guy, ok that depends on who that next guy is I guess, but I want to see a REAL ghost. Not a 'ghost' that can be brought about on cue.

I was disappointed all around.

I have to partially come to Dee's defense with regards to the cat story. Although I was not there when they filmed ths show and don't know for sure if I am right, I would bet money that what they did was take a story she told out of context and built the Andrew/cat haunting part around that. I know how editors can change your intention in the cutting room. I saw it with Bill Pavao on one of the scary story shows. He didn't want to tell any stories because he lived in the house and nothing ever happened to him. But then they asked him if he had heard anything about the house and he told a story he did not buy into but the way they edited the thing it sounded like he was the one who was saying the place was haunted.

Plus, remember, they had Lee-ann as an "overnight guest" in her own home! They might have twisted it around a bit to make it work for them, not for history.

That's very true Stefani. When I saw that Lee-Ann was depicted as an OVERNIGHT GUEST, it was all I could do to keep watching after that. I also agree with you on the photo of Micheal Martins. I would not have been happy with that picture.

Funny part of the whole show was, I know that semminary--- I live in Milwaukee!! It's a spooky place, and yes, a nun did commit sucide there! But I wanted to see more of Lizzie. Guess I am a lizzie junky!

the thing of interest here is something really odd -- almost like a media mutant. they are mixing the documentary thing with the reality TV thing -- on top of "the blair witch project" thing.

After watching the Scariest Places marathon this weekend, I'm firmly convinced that they rig things at these haunted sites so that the people who visit experience things. I bet those rigs they wear with the cameras contain small speakers where they can play sound through that only they can hear. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the Lizzie episode, a bunch of college students screaming around the Borden house over not much of anything. I did admire the two girls who were seriously trying to conduct their supernatural experiments despite the crashes and bangs thrown their way. Oh, and it was a treat to see that cutie Michael Martins again despite getting his title wrong.

I finally saw the episode thanks to a gal pal and I must say it had next to NO REDEEMING qualities. As I have never actually been to the house, I did enjoy seeing the interior, getting an idea of the rooms, etc.

The only other thing which did peak my attention was that thermo-whatever camera that sensed energies, etc, and the footage in the "Guest Room" where Abby was found. Now THAT was interesting. Of course anything can be faked, but I was curious about that phenomena. I don't have any practical experience using such equipment, so I'm not sure how it works (not to mention I'm still not sure WHAT it was measuring), but that image of a HAND with individual FINGERS clearly shown was eerie....IF it was real. I'd really like to see another team try and repeat those results. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject to add?

(Oh and my 2 cents on the "Lizzie killed Abby's cat" story: I don't buy it. Look at the way Lizzie ADORED animals! I get the sense she prized the lives of animals above many humans, and preferred their company. I don't see her doing something so cruel to an innocent animal who just happened to belong to her stepmother. If anything, she'd probably feel pity for it!)

We were all prety disapointed with that show. I have no idea what they did to the kids in the house to make them scream or how they made that hot spot on the floor.
They cut 99% of the interviews. The story you saw Dee tell was just that. She gave her interview and was then asked about some of the other stories that have been told in the house. They made it sound like a fact and not a story......oh well....thats showbiz

I spent the night at Lizzie Borden's house last Tuesday, (it was great, by the way) and our tour guide, Eleanor, mentioned this show. She said it was basically all a bunch of hooey, they made up all the scary stuff, and she told them she would not be interviewed for the program, because they were faking all the stuff that happened. She said she was embarrassed to have that show on tv.
I wonder if I'm related to Lizzie, coz my mother's maiden name is Morse. That would be cool!

I was wondering if anyone has seen that show called Dead Tenants on recently? It has psychic Jane Doherty on it, shes the one who has her findings on her site when she visited the Borden house. Interesting to see her in action.

I saw one episode. Somewere on here I commented on it. She has this muu-muu she wears and her stomach bulges like it's inflated when there is psychic activity. It was about the train crash. I thought it could easily have been a half hour show.
