Neat pics, Bob, makes me wish I had a stereopticon! Haven't seen Shaun of the Dead yet, but, its on my list of must view movies. Is Sara Boris' daughter? Did she have any cool stories to tell about him? What was the highlight of the convention for you?

I always have fun at the conventions, but this one was badly managed, with virtually NO chance to get into the outside celeb tent without a four-hour wait. So my friend Mick and I contented ourselves with meeting the celebs who had tables in the hotel meeting rooms. Kevin Sorbo left the tent and wandered around, sacrificing the bucks he could've got in the tent for a chance to chat with lots of attendees. He's golden in my book!
The first highlight was meeting Bobby "Monster Mash" Pickett after he introduced himself (for the first time!) to lovely Sara Karloff. I've had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with her before, so I just told her how beautiful she looked in the new documentary that's part of the Val Lewton DVD collection.
The second was chatting with the handsome and very nice Bela Lugosi, Jr., in full sight of the increasingly bitter gorehound make-up master, Tom Savini (hey, I didn't invent CGI!). Tom has a rep for sitting and glowering through conventions even as he sells photos and books. So, after Mick and I had finished with Mr. Lugosi, I turned and let out a big loud "Hiya, Mr. Savini!" just to make him grunt something back.
My third was the joy I got from people who came up to me and just about thanked ME for the movie of SHAUN OF THE DEAD, as if I'd had anything to do with that wonderful picture! I didn't have to do anything snarky; just "be" Shaun every once in a while for someone's camera, or recite a few lines from the film. The free T-shirt I got from the Horror Channel crew was the cherry on the sundae.
Given I had to spend Halloween itself at my BMI class, this was a great way to celebrate. I almost forgot to say that hooking up with my SCARLET STREET magazine peeps is always a blast, too.
