Tired of hearing "Press #1 for ......"

and end up talking to a machine. Want to talk to a human being?

Try this web site. It lists 100's of companies and suposedly "secret" numbers where you can call.

http://gethuman.com/

Look for the URL gethuman_cheats.

I haven't tried any but it's a good list to have just in case.

Imagine talking to a human being. What a novel experience.

Thayne's office phone system is fully automated. Even his 'persoal line' has to be reached through the automated operator.

I do not like it-- and have complained to him MANY times about it-- But he told me that if he were to employ a live person to do nothing but answer the phone and transfer calls he would have to employ 2 full time and possibly one part time person to do so. He estimates it would take 100 hours per week of work. Multiply that by the (according to him) average a clerical or office worker makes in this area ($9.00 per hour) and he would spend $46,800 a year just to have his phone answered. "Audix" cost him less than that to purchase outright and the cost of maintaining it is less that 10% of that per year. He estimates he can get 5 years out of the system before it is obsolete or he needs to upgrade.

I just hate it.. and I know what buttons to push to get through to almost any office I want to!

I know the aggravation, Harry and Audrey! What I really hate is when, after you listen to all that "push button whatever for whoever", I hear, "If you want to talk to a live person push button # whatever." Well why in the hell didn't they tell me that in the first place? The boneheads!!

Sometimes I wish I had Kevin Poulsen in my back pocket. He'd fix their little red wagon! He lives not to far from me, maybe I should give him a call. Hmmm...
