I Seem to be Having a Problem

Post by Lizthemadcow »

I keep trying to make an avatar, but it keeps telling me it's too big. I shrink my pics to the point of not being able to see them, and it still tells me this. Does anyone have any possible solutions? I would much appreciate any helo.

Hahaha. Sorry, I meant "help." Typing and vodka do not seem to go hand in hand.

According to the instructions in your Profile area where you can add the avatar, it says that it has to be 90x90 and no larger than 9kb. Perhaps that is your problem? The Avatar size is different than the profile photo.

"Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 90 pixels, the height no greater than 90 pixels, and the file size no more than 9 KB."

I hope this helps.

Also, if you make a mistake in your post, you can edit it without adding another post explaining the error. Just click edit next to your post and you can make changes to what you have written. It cleans things up better to edit rather than to post apologies for misspelled words.

Ok. Thank you. Still trying to figure all this stuff out. I'm new to forums.

I recently changed my Avatar.
I knew how to do it but it took some remembering, as I hadn't uploaded one for a while. The main thing I noticed is that I was making it 9k within my own computer (Photoshop program) but when it loaded it was rejected because it was not 9k.
So I made the file smaller, like 7k, and it loaded.
I think there was a slight difference between my computer sizing and what the Forum requirements *saw* and recognized.
My only tip would be then to make it smaller than 9k and it may be accepted.

Thanks. Though I kept reducing the size of the picture, it kept denying it, saying it was too big. I'll try to do what you suggested and see what happens.

I was having a problem, too, just getting BACK TO THE SITE, y'all, but Stef helped me, and here I am.

Whew!
