I hardly remember him from his 1957- series "Mike Hammer".
I do remember Carl the reporter who used a simple Instamatic for his news photos!!! His office conflicts reminded me of where I worked, something only seen in the "Quincy ME" series.

In those so called comedies set in offices NOBODY seems to work or produce. How can the business survive? Of course, certain areas like "Human Resources" do have the reputation of who-you-know and hardly-working. What do YOU say?

One of my favorite movies is A Christmas Story, with Darrin McGavin as the father. Every year at our house, Christmas officially arrives with the first showing of this movie. My husband and I probably watch it about 5 or 6 times before Christmas, then catch it during the Christmas Story Marathon on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. My husband even got me the famous Leg Lamp for Christmas this past year!

I love that movie too. I have a copy of it. Each year at Christmas we take it out and watch it as well. My favorite parts of the movie is when he goes down in the cellar to fight with the furnace. It so reminds me of my grandfather. He has a temper just like that. Another favorite is "Show me how the piggies eat." Oh gross lol. But the best is the lamp by far.

I just love The Christmas Story too. TBS runs a 24 hour marathon from Christmas Eve to Christmas Night and we keep it on the whole time in the den! One of our favorite clips is the tounge frozen to the flagpole segment! My husband said he knew of a kid who did that when they were little! What I think I enjoy most about the movie is that it reminds me of the holiday season as he and I were growing up. Going downtown to the big Department Store, the big light bulbs on the tree, the sheer aniticipation!
NICK At Night had a Mayberry Marathon running yesterday to remember Don Knotts. Another great one gone. He made you laugh just looking at him! One of my favorite movies he did was The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and I loved him in Apple Dumpling Gang.
I thought I would go out, and see if the air would make me feel any better. "Lizzie Andrew Borden"

When I heard the news, I couldn't be sure, but I thought I could hear a bugle in the distance playing "Taps" softly. . .
