Is the house on 2nd street haunted?
I slept on the exact spot (on the floor) where Abby's body was found and got the best night's sleep I had in months! Then a year later I spent my wedding night in the very same room, known as the John Morse room, and still saw nothing out of the ordinary. In fact the only strange thing to happen was as our maid of honor was getting dressed (in lizzie's old bedroom) she was the only person on the second floor of the house. She says that every time she left the room to use the bathroom she would come back and the lights in Lizzie's bedroom would be turned off and the door would be closed! (This happened about 4 or 5 times!) She thought I was trying to scare her, but I was in the sitting room being interviewed by the newspaper reporters! And no one else was on the second floor of the house at the time. She was a little freaked out but she still slept in that room ALONE that night. Has anyone else had anything strange happen to them in the Borden house? I think getting married there on Halloween was a bad idea, as I am now divorced after 4 years.
Derek P.S.- don't get married at the Borden house, especially on Halloween! It is bad luck! Look at me, I got divorced!

92 Second Street Haunted?
Yes, DerekStef, that house is haunted. I have seen and felt things happen in that house many times:
Seen flashes of light in the cellar
had my feet tickled in Nridget's room (while they were under the covers-don't get any funny ideas)
Felt someone sit down on the bed while my husband and I were already n it in Bridget's room
Had the door to the John Morse room swing open with no wind, no other people in the house but me and my husband
and
Saw an older gentleman in the bathroom on the 3rd floor who shouldn't have been there.
That's what I've encountered.
Haunted? Yes!

Yes, it's definitely haunted. I was there a few years back and staying in the Andrew and Abby room. I had just gotten there and went into the bathroom to freshen up...stepped out of it into the room and felt as if someone was watching me. Turned around and in the doorway of the room that was Abby's sitting room? closet? I saw a slender woman dressed in a white blouse (could have been a whole dress but I'm not remembering seeing the bottom of her) with a high neck and long sleeves. She had dark hair that was pulled back into what might have been a bun. She was probably about 5 foot 2 or 3...she didn't seem to be much taller than me. At any rate...one minute she was there and the next minute she was gone....I remember laughing to myself and thinking "oh this is going to be a GOOD weekend!" hahahahha

Donna

Tried to use the link to go to Lizzie's Privvy and got this message!
Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum.
I am a registered user, I was on the old forum, i've been homeless for a while and it's taken a while to get sorted, but am now back on-board, i've been a follower of the case for nearly 20 years now, so my question is, what qualifications do I need to get special access to read topics in that forum?
I realise i'm a new user to the New forum, but none of us were around in 1892, so I can't be treated as a suspect-can I? (sorry London sense of humour)
I hope someone can answer my post
Many thanks
Aaron

One thing we must consider about a place that is haunted is that the spirit may not reach out to everyone, that is, if you believe such a thing. Please understand that I am not supporting or disputing the actuality of paranormal activity, just making a declaration to a possibility.
I believe that some people, whether they are aware of it or not, are "haunted people," that is to say, that the Paranormal or Haunting or Spirit search certain people out and, well....., "Huant them."
So while one person may not experience a haunting in a certain house (92 second street) or other place, someone else may get the full scary experience. Make sense?

I must admit that I'm not a believer, that is to say, A believer in the paranormal. You would think that someone who is always trying to search out that medium would be contacted by, or that paranormal activity would search me out, but I guess that is not the way it works.
But I can say this. Years ago I was at a party and and I set up a Ouiga Baord to add some fun to the activities. Well, I spooked the hell out of myself. A spirit said he had a message for me. Of course everyone thought it was good fun and laughs were sounded around the room. Then the spirit said it had a message from my brother who died in a car accident at 14. No one in the room knew who my borther was or how he died. I removed my finger from the glass at that time in fear. My borther and I never got along. The glass sent me the message, "I still love You." spooked the heck out of me. Made me a beliver that there is more to it than we understand.
Perhaps we should have a Ouiga Board conference at 92 and ask Lizzie whether "she did it" huh?

Ouija boards are cool! My grandmother used to work for Parker Brothers (the game company) when they were here in Salem, Massachusetts and she gave me one for X-mas. Had alot of fun with it!
So no, the 2 times I slept in the John Morse room I never saw anything out of the ordinary...Although last month I was in the Salem public library at about 8:45 pm (they close at 9) and as I was walking away from the true crime stacks on the 2nd floor I saw someone with their back turned to me reading a book. Caught them out of the corner of my eye. When I turned to look, the person was gone! Really freaky!

Of course I must stess even today I do not believe in ghosts, but what do I know?
Many strange things happened when we use to work the Ouija Board. I ususally did it at a party when someone urged me to. After a couple of minutes the jokes and laughter would stop and the room would drop into silence.
In was a home made affair. I would take a blank piece of paper cut it up into little squares and write in all the letters and numbers from 0 to 9. Then set them up in a circle. If someone had holy water we would sprinkle the table with it and we always used a shot glass. All particapaints would drink wine or spirits from the glass first before beginning.
I can tell may strange stories for which I have no explanation.
One day at a party we were working the glass. In came Ken with his friend who's name was Dave. No one in the room knew who Dave was. No one in the room even knew his name except for Ken.
Suddenly the glass said it had a message for someone in the room. I asked what it was. It spelled out "I am always with you." I asked who the message was for? It spelled out Davey. We all looked puzzled, we knew of no davey.
Just then Ken's friend began to cry and left the apartment. Davey was the name his father called him by. His father had just recently died. It never failed to spook the heck out of me.
