Best ISP?

Post by DWilly »

I've always used aol but that's mainly because for the last 8 years I have gotten it for free. Well, now that aol has done away with board monitors I'll have to start paying again and with that in mind I'd like to get a few opinions on other services. I'm thinking of switching to Earthlink. Any opinions on that or any other isp or do you think for the money aol is the best ?

Living in a rural location we were stuck with dial up for many years. About 2 years ago a new service became available to us. It is a wireless modem which receives a signal from a satellite somewhere nearby. It is considered high speed, about 600K. If we lived in town I would have a cable connection. I will never, ever have dial up again if I had a choice.

I have thought about going with Cox Internet since I already use them for my tv but, I have heard that with cable you risk having your computer getting attacked more.

This site lists all the ISPs in the USA and Canada.

This URL is for those interested in broadband (DSL, Cable, etc.). Find your state and area code and it will list all the ISPs available in your area.

I would never willingly go back to dial up!
Just be yourself!
