Got to thinking-- How did Lizzie spend her birthdays?

Post by snokkums »

 I was thinking about this the other day, as my birthday was the other day. In my family b-days and Christmas are always spent with a lot of hoopla. You know go out to dinner presents and such. I wonder how Lizzie did her b-days, especially when her father was alive.

I think when he was alive they didn't do awhole lot because he was such a tight wad. He probably wouldn't have spent to much if any at all.

Now I think that after his death, that maybe Lizzie might have whooped it up abit. You know, throw a party invite people over and such.

What does everybody else think?

I think they would celebrate or not according to the customs of their class and time.
Weren't birthday celebrations then considered a form of paganism, like in Roman times?
Aren't they mostly celebrated by children nowadays?
