Whale Watching

Post by bobarth »

Was wondering if there is any chance to see whales in Massachussetts in April?

You might see some whales in April but the water can be rough making the trip less pleasant. Capt. John Boat's go out of Plymouth harbor a couple of times a day. Their number is 508 746-2643. The Plymouth side of the Cape is probably the closet to fall river--Stellwagon bank is where the whales feed. Stellwagon is a large area that goes from Cape Ann to Ptown. I checked last years calendar and they started going out on april 4th. The trips usually last about 4-41/2 hours depending on where the whales are feeding. It is an experience of a life time. You see alot of birds migrating too. You should check out america's hometown Plymouth-(the "rock" and the Mayflower-it's alittle hokey but fun. Plymouth Planation is worth the trip.

Hope this info helps.
