Suggestions solicited for Whittlings
To those of you who read my Whittlings: Are there any subjects you'd like to see me write on in the future?

(Denise) Thank you so much, Kat! It's always heartening to know one's work has been appreciated.Kat @ Thu Feb 15, 2007 7:41 pm wrote:I really liked reading about the origins of the Congregational Church. I didn't know any of that. I learned a lot. Thanks!
Is there anything in particular you'd like to see me tackle in a future Whittling?

I always enjoy your contributions to the Hatchet, Denise.
Topic-wise -- I don't know if it appeals to you but I was intrigued by the little bit we learned from our member DWilly about the physician Mary Edwards Walker. This thread shows she may have been one of the people who wrote to Knowlton about the Borden case.

Hi, I just got my first issue (with my schedule print is a little easier) of The Hatchet. I haven't finished the article on the church but so far really liked what I've read. When you say Whittlings I'm assuming this is a regular column in the magazine? (yes I'm new--how can you tell!!!!) Actually everything I've seen in this magazine seems very well written. I can tell that I'll be spending alot of time going page to page. I to am interested in the way people were treated with different remedies. Also about everyday life in a mill town. Real life of what people actually had to do day to day. Not the romantazied versions of "life was simpler and easier". Thanks to all of you who put this magazine together & also those who keept the forums going. I've been enjoying all the topics.

I was thinking more about this, and the Whittlings is more about closer looks at things surrounding the Borden case, or tied peripherally, so maybe poisons and patent medicines is a better choice.
Mary Naugle has the series about unusual women in those days- she might be suited for the skinny on Mary Edwards Walker.

I finished the story of Lizzie's church and was totally fascinated. I learned alot of history that I didn't know. The story on Hetty Green was something else. I really like this magazine and was impressed it was also bound well. I wish I had a week off just to read everything I've gotten so far. I like the forums alot, I've learned so much through them also. I'm glad I found your website.
