What are "Bots"?

Here's a fairly good article on what Bots are and how they work. Pretty scary reading

Thanks, Dwilly, that was an interesting article.

There is also this one which covers spambot attacks on forums:

Dwilly, knowing you're a tennis fan I was thinking of you the other day. Watching the Food channel on TV they had a show on food places in Newport, RI. One of the restaurants was in the Tennis Hall of Fame there and the hostess of the show not only took a tennis lesson but ate at the restaurant. The restaraunt looks right out onto the courts. She had lobster. Lord knows what it cost but when you are the hostess you get to eat free.
I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect world
And fool enough to think that's what I'll find

What really got me about reading about these Bots is that my computer could easily and without my knowledge be used to be one. In one of the articles I read it said that the companies that deal in selling all of this software to try and protect PCs have pretty much conceded defeat against some of these hackers who do these things.

And now about the Tennis Hall Of Fame. I have been there. I guess that's no surprise  I didn't eat there but I did take a tennis lesson. I took it because I wanted to play on a grass tennis court. It was nice. The ball bounces pretty low but the grass is great on the legs.
