Letter to J. Edgar Hoover with mention of Lizzie

Post by bobarth »

Found this today on the Freedom of Information Act website. Has anybody seen this before?
They have blanked out the name of the man who was the last to have a personal and intimate conversation with Lizzie. Could this be Louis Howe?
Also does anyone know who they are talking about that will knock Lizzie off of her pedestal of innocence?

Now, how do we get those Robinson files?

Back in 2004 Susan ran across that information. I wrote to the FBI under the FOI act and obtained a copy of the one page file. It was written up as an article in the April-May 2004 issue of the Hatchet.

Thanks Harry, Did the copy you ordered still have all the blacked out marks on it?

I shall add that issue of the Hatchet to my want list.

Yes, Bobbie, the copy they sent was exact;y like the web site copy you referred to. We were able to track the man referred to in the last paragraph thanks to MarkA in Fall River. Mr. Bertolet, the editor of the defunct Lizzie Borden Quarterly, was also kind enough to offer his opinions to me.

Harry- Do we know who the writer of the letter was?
Would a copy of the April 3,1946 Fall River newspapers give us the information we need to figure out who the "defendant" was?

Well...Harry is a writer/researcher and this article was an interesting experience as we sort of shared in his discoveries- and with our Mark's help and Mr. Bertolet's input it became even more special! Maybe y'all can get a back issue of The Hatchet?
