Lizzie on the radio
I was looking around on the net, trying to find my way to old newspaper articles concerning the FBI letter that Harry had posted about on another topic and ran across some old radio archives and there were some about Fall River and our Lizzie. You get to hear the whole radio show, so it's time comsuming, but I thought it amusing and interesting. I only had time to listen to one, but am going back to hear the others. They mixed fact with fiction to tell a real whopper of a story. Some of the stories were originally broadcasted in 1952.......like I said before, interesting. Well anyway hope you enjoy it http://www.archive.org/details/LizzieBordenOTRKIBM

Your welcome! I kinda thought maybe some of you guys had already run across it, but just in case some hadn't I went ahead and posted it. I was hoping for a more realistic accent from the players, especially for Lizze, to kinda get the feel of how she would have spoken. Agnes Moorehead playing Lizzie in "The Fall River Tradgedy" was a real surprise! But the voice just didn't even remotely sound like what I imagine Lizzie would have sounded like. But still have a couple to listen too, so maybe..................Harry @ Sun May 27, 2007 4:54 am wrote:Thanks! The one on the top is new to me.

Oh good grief - I had no idea that site has radio shows too!
I discovered archive.org myself some time ago and have downloaded a fair bunch of books from there over the past year or so - and even a couple of old movies that have slipped into the public domain over the years. I've never yet located any books that are specific to the Borden case, but they did preserve copies of at least one book that Lizzie reportedly owned - the book about President McKinley that was mentioned in a recent Hatchet article by Bill Ulrich.
Great stuff indeed!

I staid the night for shelter at a farm behind the mountains, with a mother and son - two "old-believers." They did all the talking...
