I finally did it!!!
Well, I did it. I stayed overnight in the guest room Monday night at Lizzie's. Friday I drove to Pittsfield, Massachusetts for my stepson's wedding on Saturday. Sunday my family went home to go back to work, but I kept going by myself to Salem where I stayed overnight with an old high school friend I hadn't seen for 150 years in her family's huge Queen Anne style house which was fabulous. She showed me around Salem, a place I had never seen before. Then Monday morning I drove to Fall River and met Shelley at Lizzie's. Richard was also there with his friend, so Shelley gave us a great tour of the city and the cemetery. Shelley is such an upbeat, cheery person, with so many interests. She is an absolute delight. She goes over and above the call of duty in helping everyone learn and see as much as possible. When we decided to stop for lunch we had the unexpected surprise and pleasure in finding out that Stefanie was there for the day, so she joined us for a really great time. That evening I finally ran out of steam with all the traveling and wedding stuff and visiting that I called out for a pizza, had dinner at the bed and breakfast and collapsed on the bed for about an hour and a half. In the evening Eleanore gave us a great tour. Another surprise- a very nice young woman named Liz who gives seances there came over and we had a seance in the dining room. That was totally unexpected and lots of fun.
I got lots of pictures and will get them on disc soon- with the wedding pics there are too many to put on the computer, so I will have to wait with those. I did get some orb pictures at night around the outside of the house, and I got some orbs in the pictures I took in the Morse room just before I went to sleep. Normally I would have been a bit apprehensive about trying to get some sleep, but by that time, my " battery" was pretty worn down after the hectic weekend, so, after taking some pictures from the bed and finding the orbs, I actually went to sleep. Tracey was sweet enough to call me before I went to sleep to make sure I wasn't hiding in a closet somewhere, so we talked for a while. The house is very light and airy- very, very pretty on the inside. Leeann has done a very nice job with it. It was nice to be able to meet and talk with her in person- she is a very nice hostess. And Dave, the breakfast cook is as cute as can be-lots of great stories. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Hey! Glad you got back okay. Did you find the Merritt Parkway and Tappanzee Bridge (hope they were still there where I left them).
It was a great pleasure meeting you, and I am so glad you finally got to Fall River and Roger's Coney Island for hotdogs!
Next time we will hit all the secondary Lizzie sites. I think the most fun was finally pinning down the exact spot where Lizzie was born on Ferry Street. I am quite sure the people watching us from the terrace must have thought we had lost our minds. Happy memories, happy yesterdays!

Angel, it was great getting a chance to meet you! That was my fourth visit and it was a pleasure to see your reaction to things for the first time. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye on Tuesday morning, but we got caught up taking pictures of the rest of the house.
Shelly was indeed terrific and very generous with her time. It was really fabulous having so many Forum people together at one time. The night before I had the chance of meeting Len Rebello and we had some fun turning off all the lights and moving the couch around and rapping for hours. Sorry you didn't get a chance to be there, but the seance on Monday night was a blast.
I hope you had a safe trip home and hope to see you there again in the future.

richard--your profile pic creeps the hell out me.
but then i doubt i could be brave enough to even be in the house at night, let alone sleep there!
when i was in d.c., i went to ford's theatre, and the house across the street, and really couldn't handle seeing the bed in which lincoln died. goosebumps!
and while in california, i happened into the nixon birthplace and library--and discovered the man is buried about 100 feet from the exact room of his birth. i didn't like that feeling either.
so my hat's off to anyone who could actually sleep there! and especially shelley!
i do hope to visit someday, just in the daytime.
(yes, i'm a wimp.)

I used to feel that way too, but now I'm a seasoned, smart ass, know it all, die hard pro (who would have probably been out the door in the middle of the night with my toothbrush in one hand and my car keys in the other if I had heard something creepy.)libby @ Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:31 pm wrote:richard--your profile pic creeps the hell out me.

Actually, the house is very light and airy, bigger and wider than they make you think it is in the books, and welcoming. Now, if I go again, I think I would like to see or hear something happening. I was surprised at how at home I felt. I actually got hungry at 2 in the morning, so I went downstairs and ate some of my left over pizza I had left in the fridge. I sat there at 2 in the morning in the dining room all by myself and didn't feel at all weird.

Way to go, Ellen! I'm so glad that you finally got to visit and stay at the B&B, how cool! And running into Stefani too, double cool! Can't wait to see the rest of your pics, it looks like you all had a great time together.

Alright, Ellen!!!
I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience, and what a bonus meeting and spending time with Shelley, Richard and Stefani - WOW! Somehow, I just knew you would have the time of your life.
It sounds as though Richard had a great time, too - how lucky to have met Len Rebello!!!
Cool picture, Ellen - I can't wait to see the rest of them, as well as Richards.

Angel, I'm still trying to figure out how you got up at 2 in the morning,
walked downstairs to the kitchen, and ate some left over pizza in the dining room by yourself!!! You did much better than I -- as comfortable as that house is, I would not have dared to venture downstairs alone at night. I stayed very tightly wrapped up in Emma's room until the sun came up. Kudos to you!!!!!!!!!
My family also thinks I'm quite demented :) But they sure do love the adventures I take them on!
