On another thread, a poster mentioned having nightmares about the house. I wonder if this is a common occurrence among Bordenites?
I’ve had many “nightmares” about the place, & it even pops up sometimes in otherwise standard dreams---i.e. That’s the Borden house up there; we don’t want to go there today…
My most recent one---I was there buying souvenirs. There was a power outage & for some reason I had to go upstairs to Andrew & Abby’s room in the dark. Nothing really happened, altho the air was thick & menacing & I felt I was being watched. I expected an encounter if I slowed my pace. (This one was quite mild compared to some I’ve had).
Do we all have 2nd Street nightmares?

I've never had a nightmare in 9 years of sleeping there, but I have had a few fanciful "imaginings" and a few odd moments of fleeting shadows, footsteps, dishes being put away when the house is empty, a sort of "disembodied" sighing, and the feeling of being watched. When surrounded constantly by people wishing to experience paranormal events, and just being in a place where such a terrible thing occurred, some of this must rub off! Mostly, I have no desire to "see" anything- as I must be alone there so often.

I've had three.
In the first one I was about to stay overnight in the guestroom. I was unpacking my suitcase and all of a sudden I got this horrible crushing feeling, and heard this loud whooshing sound, and I got so frightened I had to get out of the room as fast as I could. That's the dream that made me feel I had to sleep there to get over it.
The second one I think was the most interesting. I dreamed I was sitting in the back of an old wagon being pulled by a horse. The person driving it was an old peddler selling wares. We were going down streets of a town and it was in the 1890's. We stopped at Lizzie's house and I walked up the stairs to the side door. There was a woman standing in the kitchen who was telling a couple of people there about the murder, as though it had just happened. I got a real sense of fear when I entered the house and was standing there listening to her.
The third dream was again in the guest room. I was standing on the other side of the bed instead of where the murder had happened, and Lizzie, dressed all in white, was coming at me with an axe.
The good thing about having actually stayed there was that I didn't sense any bad vibes while I was there. It seemed that once Lizzie left that house she closed that chapter in her life cmpletely, so if there are any spirits, one of them is definitely not Lizzie. I felt that if there is anything left, it is benign. Maybe some sadness or anger residual from the victims, but nothing that would be inflicted upon anyone else.

I have had only one dream about 2nd street, Tina. It wasn't a nightmare just a weird dream.
I was standing infront of Lizzie outside their house when I suddenly slammed Lizzie up against the wall and raised a hatchet like I was going to hit her. Her mouth and eyes got real big as she stared at me but she didn't say a word. I remember the wind was blowing her hair a little but in slow motion. There was no sound at all in the dream. It was set in 1892 by the dress she was wearing. Crazy dream.
