Albert Pillsbury's Bequests

I just came across an item from the Time magazine archives and thought I'd pass it along. They ran a three paragraph story in their January 19, 1931 issue concerning bequests made by Albert Enoch Pillsbury. (The former Attorney General of Massachusetts had passed away the prior month apparently.) It's an odd yet fascinating little tidbit, posted at http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... 05,00.html

It's interesting that the entry for Pillsbury in the Knowlton papers Glossary mentions only his first wife, Louise. Perhaps it is because he was married to her at the time of the Borden case although it mentions several other things after that date.

Also of interest, Pillsbury was Louise's third husband.

Hopefully Louise had better luck with husband #4, if there was one!

The implication is that it was he who divorced her - interesting because apparently it was wife #2 who divorced him.

Wow - he sounds like a live wire!

BTW, what illness was he supposed to have while Lizzie went to trial? I never heard of what that particular illness was. Personally, I am inclined to think he made it up to shove the case at Knowlton in a publicly graceful way.
