Axe Self Defense

Post by Nadzieja »

I can't believe what I just saw!!! On the Boston Chanel 5 news they just had a story of a convenience store clerk ( I think CA) defending herself from behind the counter and she was wielding an axe. The tape was a little grainy but she was really swinging, and the guy was ducking then left in a hurry. All I could think of was " Could this be Lizzie reincarnated?"

Wow, that was something else, I just watched the online surveillance video of the woman in action! This happened in Long Island, NY. Heres a link to the video, pretty wild, that is one big axe:

I'll bet that's the last time he'll go into that store and ask for cold cuts!

Geez! She kinda looked like Lizzie with the long skirt on. Maybe that's how Lizzie covered her hair.

I think that was overkill. That woman looked insane whacking away. Now I'll always wonder, when I go in a convenience store - just what is under that counter ...

THANKS for providing the link to the video, Susan. You so sweet!

When I watched the link, it looked like he had a gun, you only see it for a second but she's very lucky he didn't start shooting. I think she shocked him so bad he knew he just had to get out.

Nadzieja, I agree. At one point, it looked like he was gonna shoot her, but she was swinging so fast it looked like he could not get a clear shot at her. Plus that axe was so BIG! I don't think he could get very close to her. I wonder if they ever caught him.

Well, it shows that a woman is capable of wildly trying to reign blow after blow on a person with an axe like that. :geek:

Does this open any new doors on the Borden case? Maybe the weapon was a huge axe? Or, would this huge axe not be a practical weapon for Lizzie. The woman in the video didn't actually hit the man. Maybe the axe would take a lot more effort when you're bashing someone's skull in with it (?).

In the Witness Statements, it says that Lizzie did go to the gym and work out on her arms.

Hi, I went through the witness statements, but don't remember where it said Lizzie went to the gym. If you remember where it is, please post so I can go back & read it again. That woman in the video probably had enough adrenaline flowing through her that she probably wouldn't have stopped if she did hit him once. The whole thing just amazed me because the only hatchet I've ever seen was my husband's boy scout hatchet. Didn't think many people used them anymore.

The information about Lizzie working out at a gymnasium was in the notes of that apostle of truthfulness, Detective McHenry. See page 45+ of the Witness Statements for his report.

From the news story I read, the woman with the axe said that the robber did have a gun, she thought it was fake. Hence her fearless attack of him.

Lizzie's gym class doing hatchet hoists.
