I must be losing my mind. I could have sworn I sent you happy birthday wishes, but I don't find it on this thread. (Maybe it will show up on another thread where it will be totally out of place, and then I will REALLY start wondering about myself.)

Just to tell you, I hade a fabulous party. Though I had helped hand-pick the attendees so no one would feel isolated, Jay also invited some surprise guests, such as my baby brother who lives in Durham and a theatre critic pal of mine here in NY who's been sort of a mentor to me. ALso, members of Jay's familywere there, getting to meet my mom and siblings for the first time. I can only hope that anyone who is turning fifty has as wonderful and warm an evening.
