Blood on Andrews body

I was reading thru some old posts and came across one that was interesting and got me thinking. The post was titled Andrews suit. The first line of the post states; "I've often wondered if the inept police of Fall River ever checked Andrews suits during one of their umpteen searches. We've always heard of the numerous searches of blood on Lizzies dress."

Ok, they have looked for blood on Lizzie's dress, but what of Andrews suit? I have looked at the crime scene photos and it doesn't look like there is alot of blood on the body. Did the killer clean up the body or what?

When the heart stops pumping, your blood stops circulating. They said that the first blow to Andrew's skull was probably fatal. So there could have been not much blood.

But in the murder photos, in black and white, you can't see how much blood is on his suit anyway, since his suit is black.

The sofa had to be re-upholstered. He was dripping blood. Some of the blood soaked into the sitting room carpeting and I think you can see it in the basement, right under where he was killed.

With the Lizzie documentary "Lizzie Borden Had an Axe?", starring our Kat and Stef, someone put luminol on the wood on the basement ceiling that would have been where Andrew's blood soaked. If you've seen the show (it's on every once in a while) it's exciting to see the luminol effects from the sitting room. And the luminol effects in the washbowl in the cellar. But when they put it on a cellar wall, there would have had to have been another St. Valentine's Day Massacre held down there - the luminol showed up a HUGE area.

Not long after, people started to realize that luminol also shows up purple not just for blood but for bleach and some laundry detergents. So if Bridget washed the cellar wall, or anyone did ever, the luminol showed up just as if it were blood. So then one starts to doubt all the luminol showing in the wash bowl. And even where the couch would have been right above, dripping blood down. Someone could have washed the ceiling of the cellar with bleach. I think I'd try if someone died like that in a house I lived in.

What surprises me is that not long after that show aired the first time, I heard about luminol showing up purple for items other than blood (bleach, detergents, maybe a couple more things). It was on one of those 'forensic shows' on tv. The narrator said it as a team was testing some murder scene for blood.

So why didn't the detective who was 'famous' in the OJ Simpson case - or the guy that worked with him with the luminol - know that? Those guys ruined that show. They could have used something else to test for blood. They ought to pull that show, edit those 'detectives' out, and just have a "Kat & Stef Koorey Show". Now they were excellent!

Yes I saw that epsiode and there was blood in the basement, even now. That was awsome. I didn't think about the couch having to be reuplostered. Thanks for the information Augusta.

There is also testimony from others who were at the crime scene as to where they found blood. I think even Morse gives testimony as to what blood evidence he spied that day.

Is that true that all these years later you can still see a spot in the basement were andrews blood was? If that is true, there must be a lot of request when someone visits the house to see the spot in the basement were andrews blood was!
