The quiet sister and the wild one
I was reading something and I got a chuckle out of it and the article was called Emmas Great Escape. It goes on to say howEmma pretty much left maplecroft when Lizzie started entertaing the theatre times and how Emma really didnt approve. Just got to thinking how different there personalities really were; Lizzie the outgoing one and Emma the reserved one.
Suicide is painless It brings on many changes and I will take my leave when I please.

I think Lizzie was telling the world, "Hey, look at me everyone!" And Em was probably saying, "Excuse me, um, please don't pay any attention to little 'ol me." I feel Lizzie was outgoing while Em was a wall flower. Those opposite personalities are bound to clash, and evidently they did.

Those who give no credence to astrology might disagree, but since Lizzie was around the cusp, straddling 2 signs so to speak, she might have appeared both ways at different times- outgoing when she was in the mood, and introverted when she felt like being alone.
In her case, I personally can see the possibility that in her introverted mode, she would have been secretive- maybe even paranoid to some degree.
