Amen to that.

I have thought about it all day. I'll never forget that morning. I was climbing into my car to head to work and Peter Jennings was on the radio, comparing some disaster that just happened to Pearl Harbor. Then I got to my office and it dawned on me what happened. We were glued to the TV all day and I remember our supervisor let us leave during work hours to take our turn waiting at the gas station. I hope everyone takes time out of their day to remember the victims of 9/11.

I am a proud American,I believe we are the BEST country on Earth. There are many other people who would do anything to destroy our country and our culture,we must never let that happen. I was working at The Gap on 9/11. 20 minutes after the second plane hit the Trade Center corporate headquarters called all stores nation wide, and immediatley closed the stores. They stated that we were to go home, reassure our loved ones and stay safe. The store stayed closed for 3 days and for any retail store to do that it was remarkable. I pray everyday that we are never attacked again,I know that isn't realistic. God Bless America!!

I agree with you Barbara. I was working a 12 hour shift that day, and someone faxed into the office a picture of a plane hitting the tower. They brought it into our dept. and we all just froze in horror.

I was sitting at my desk reading when I heard the report coming from my TV of a plane crashing into the Tower. I finally got up to go look and saw the second plane hit live. I couldn't believe it at first and thought it was some scene from a new Spielberg movie or something. After seven years it's still hard to believe it happened. I think the saddest part of all is seeing those poor people jumping to their deaths. May they all rest in peace.

I was 8 blocks from the Capitol building that morning in my office, which was in the basement. No one thought to call me that the building was being shut down, and I couldn't get radio reception down there, so I was sitting there blissfully unaware of anything. Around 12 noon my supervisor called me to see if I had left and she said "What are you doing there?" I had no idea what she was talking about. She told me what had happened and said to get out of there as soon as possible. I had no where to go because theyhad closed down Union Station, which meant I couldn't take the train to get home. Just then a friend of mine called me from his home in DC and asked if I'd like to walk to his house in case I couldn't get out of the city. I gratefully accepted. I had to walk a mile to get to his house and it was pretty scary. There were people rushing in all directions, cars trying to leave the city, and sirens going off everywhere. When I approached my friend's house I heard this loud muslim chanting on a loudspeaker coming from somewhere, which was really unnerving. I thought "What on earth is happening?" When I got to his house he reassured me about the sound- said there was a mosque in the neighborhood and that went on all the time, so it wasn't anything unusual. We ordered pizza and watched everything on tv. At 3 pm they reopened Union Station, so I was able to walk there to get the train. On the walk there it was totally unlike three hours earlier. By that time everyone had left the city to go home. There were no people on the streets, hardly any cars, and there was an unusually eerie silence. I was totally freaked out by the time I got home.

I had the weirdest thing happen to me yesterday morning. I had the TV on, listening the news, while I was on my computer checking my e-mails. A re-play of the news report from the morning of 9/11/2001 came on the TV regarding the 1st plane hitting the North Tower. I jumped, then jerked my head around to watch the news report.

The really eerie thing is: I was doing exactly the same things the morning of the attacks, as I was yesterday morning, and I reacted exactly the same way. It was as if I was reliving the morning of 9/11/2001 all over again! Let me tell you, it put a shiver up my back!

I didn't have a loved one killed or injured in the WTC attacks, but it effected me no less and still does to this day; my guess is, it always will. To my knowledge, I didn't personally know any of the victims who died that horrible day. However, there was one person, killed, who stands out for me. That person is Berenthia (Berry) Berenson Perkins, the wife of actor Anthony Perkins; she was a passenger on Flight 11 out of Boston. Tony Perkins was one of my favorite actors, and to think that his wife, who was only 53 years old, died in such a horrible manner is beyond words.

Berry had spent the summer of 2001 in her Cape Cod, MA home and was flying back to her home in California to see her son Elvis perform, and to also be with her both of sons on the 9th anniversary of their father's death, which was the next day. My heart goes out to Tony and Berry's sons, Osgood and Elvis.

I can't imagine being a passenger on any of the flights that day, or the people who were in the area of the planes entry into the WTC. It is even more mind blogging to think of being one of the terrorists, who drove the places into the buildings, knowing you were about to die.

May all the victims of the WTC and Pentagon tragedies, rest in peace.

I had just woken up. I had worked a second shift, and about 8:45 I woke up and turned on cnn to catch the news. I remember calling my mother asking her "Who bombed the World Trade Towers", thinking that it wa a repeat of 1992. And she told me that a plane had gone thru the first tower. As soon as she said that, the second one went thru the second tower. Then the towers collasped. I think my mothers and my jaws collectively dropped. It was all on the Tv news.
