Ike In Galveston

Post by Kat »

If anyone can find a link to a good Live Web Cam centered on the Galveston coastline, can you post it?

Here are 2 views at the Galveston port Cruise Line cam.
These 2 pics are 24 hours apart. Notice the Big White Ship in the first pic.
Then notice 24 hours later it is gone and see how high the water is on the base of the red building compared to yesterday.
These were 10 in the morning!

There's quite a few different ones on this site. They are on the slow side loading as I imagine they are getting a lot of hits.

and here's Corpus Christi

We've had tornado warnings here in the KC area this evening, unusual for Kansas in September. And it's rained the past 3 days. My prayers go out to the folks in the Galveston area.

We got 8 inches of rain yesterday in 24 hrs. here in west texas...geesh talk about flooding. This was from the remnants of a Pacific tropical storm. We have about 500 evacuee's here and can hold 500 more. May God keep everyone safe during Hurricane Ike.

Steve, I didn't realize you lived in Texas - I have some cousins in Houston. I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks Harry!
Yes some of those cams take too long to load!

Good luck SteveS!

On the Weather Channel I just watched mesmerized as a boat sank on the lake!

My niece & her family live in College Station, Tx, can't keep my eyes off the Weather Channel. She's suppose to text me before 8:30am est to let me know if everybody is ok, that's if she still has phone service. Steve S. I wasn't sure where in TX you were, however I can't imagine going through this storm. You'll appreciate this Steve, when she comes to visit one of the first places we hit on the way home is Dunkin Donuts!!!

Texas is still under a state of emergency. The east coast is a absolute mess. Thank God the surge wasn't higher then 15 feet or so. The damage is enormous and hopefully there won't be any loss of life.
