Love it! Am just heading up for some fun in Fall River. We have 10 guests (ghosts) tonight and I have some cider from the old cider mill in Mystic, cider donuts, popcorn balls, cupcakes, and goodies for treats. Betty Mitchell who taught that great class on Lizzie which Len and Ed took back in the 90's is coming with her class at 2 this afternoon for a special house tour. Don't forget LeeAnn on Montel today at 10 and 4 p.m. I will get plenty of photos! Hope we don't get locked in Oak Grove again.

It's that time of year again!

This year I have a digital camera & finally got to shoot the Halloween House that's on my way to work:

It's not quite as spooky this year, as they have been slowly giving the place a facelift & it doesn't look as "haunted" as it used to!

This Maplecroft-like house is actually closer in age to 92...it was built in the 1840s, but had extensive additions & remodeling some 40+ years later.

The house is still neat, Tina-Kate. I think I can imagine it spookier. (I love that porch - and the upstairs window...)

I hadn't seen this thread last year. You are darling as Nance! Great pumpkin, Harry.

I hope the B & B gets another great group this year!

That house looks great. We have a street in my town where each house and yard are decorated. It looks even better at night with all the creepy lighting.

We have strange, spooky looking houses around my area. There is one directly across the street hidden behind a twelve and a half foot hedge. I have never seen the house, just part of the roof and chimney stack. Every now and then some spooky looking person creeps in. I half expect the police will find two mummified bodies one day sitting in a couple of rocking chairs with their son "Boo" on the loose. Who knows what goes on next door...

You should write spooky stories, Steve...

"It was warm that summer morning in 1892... no wait, you've heard that one."

I would like to learn to write, to put words together. Since I was a child I have had this desire to write a story about tiny people made of twigs who live in a giant oak tree. It would have a good moral thread running through it. That was before I learned about "Miss Hickory." Now that is a cool story.

I finally got the photos up from Halloween -in a slide show at the link below. It was a warm night and we had record numbers of trick or treaters- mostly coming in one huge wave. One little boy not quite 2 really liked the house and did not want to leave. He stood and waved out the door to his dad and older sister. Now there's somebody not afraid to stay! Charles the Pumpkin made his usual appearance on the front step (named after original house owner Charles Trafton). Only one plastic hatchet was stolen from his head this year.

Thanks for the pictures everyone!

I actually wore that Groucho glasses-moustache-nose thing this year when I answered the door! That is so weird! The kids loved it! I opened the door leaning way over- they expected an adult and were looking up- but I was at their level. Then as an added jarring surprise I had a big fake spider I held out to them when I opened the door!
It was fun. I had spooky music ready on the computer and as I opened the door calling out "Trick or Treat" I hit the play button and had instant scary organ music!
Woo-hoo! :batman:
There were some scary shows on that night and that weekend! Anyone see the "haunted" show with the flying brick?
