Hi,
I visited the Borden B&B on Thursday, Sept 10th and took the 3:00 tour. I found it rather curious that while I was on the tour several of the inner doors kept opening and closing. It was a coolish day and slightly breezy so I assumed it was the wind but I keep thinking back and it didn't really seem that breezy. But it must have been. To those who are more familiar with the house and/or the FR area, would a slightly breezy day be enough to cause the inner doors of an older house to keep opening and closing? The windows to the house were all open or at least many of them were, so it's quite possible there would be a cross breeze, but it still seems odd to me that it would keep opening and closing over and over.
Cross Currents?

Wow, I'd be interested in hearing Lee-ann's opinion on this. Maybe it was due to a current. Were many people coming in and out of the outside doors? Could have altered the air pressure within the house enough to affect the interior doors. Otherwise, there's always the paranormal explanation...

No, there wasn't many people coming in at all. The 3:00 tour was only my friend who toured with me and the tour guide, just us 3. One time I pointed to the door that was swinging at the moment and laughingly said, Am I the only one who is curious as to why these doors keep moving?" They looked but didn't say anything and the tour continued. Maybe the old doors absorb enough humidity to keep them off balanced enough that when it's even slightly breezy with the windows open they will blow to and fro. That's what I keep telling myself lol.

I have a door that would swing open because the screws holding the hinges were too short, and the hinge flopped out. The longer screws were put in, and things were ok, but now the door swings open. Maybe the wood frame is off kilter ? I will leave it alone. I love a spooky door. I would rather have ghosts than real live noisy neighbors.
