After Emma received word of trouble at home, she went back to Fall River. A few questions about this I am hoping someone will answer, as I have not found the answers during my own research:
1. Did Emma take all her luggage with her back to Fall River right then, or would she have had to send for some of it? My understanding is that she took most everything she had (?) and I wonder if she just came home and didn't bother packing her things before making the trip that afternoon.
2. Did Emma know her father was killed before she got to the house? Had they told her, or did she find out when she arrived home that he was dead. I wonder what her reaction was, and who told her?
3. When Emma arrived at the Borden house that evening, who met her? It is my understanding that Lizzie was upstairs in her pink wrapper, so Emma had to have been receieved someone else. Who met her at the door? A police officer? How would he have known Emma stayed there and to let her in? Did she just walk in and find out from somebody what had happened, or did someone tell her outside.
I imagine she got to her house, and getting out of the carriage, noticed the crowd, and asked about it, or maybe the police were expected her carriage, and met her at the street...?
Not very important info, but facts needed for something I am working on about the Bordens. I'm finally trying my hand at a screenplay once and for all (don't laugh) and I'm trying to get even the minor details as factual as possible.

Good for you, Brian, on doing a screenplay!
Good, good luck!
Someone has posted on here before what train Emma took back to Fall River and what time it arrived.
It seems like she did not take the earliest train that she might have, but maybe she was taking time to get whatever stuff she did need to take together.
I have never read anywhere what you are asking - and what great questions they are.
Lizzie told Dr. Bowen to send her a telegram but to not say in the telegram what happened because there was someone elderly at the house Emma was staying at in Fairhaven. You probably know all this.
Since word travelled so fast about the Borden murders, I wonder if she heard the news on the train.
