Here is today's article in the Fall River Herald News about the new book about Lizzie.

Though the trade edition is paperback, there is a limited edition published in hardcover. It is the first hardcover book published by the PearTree Press and the press's first attempt at issuing a limited and collectable edition of one of its publications and authors. Lizzie Borden, The Girl with the Pansy Pin is a novel. It is the first fictional full-fledged account of the crime and the life of Lizzie in over 22 years. It is important to the author that I stress the term fiction, since there will be those who complain "he got it wrong."

To give you a brief history about Lizzie Borden novels, there are 3 full-length titles written since 1939 centered and structured around the actual Borden murders. It began with Marie Belloc Lowdes, LIZZIE BORDEN A STUDY IN CONJECTURE, published by Longmans, Green Co. Then, in 1984, Evan Hunter came out with his block-buster best seller LIZZIE, published by Arbor House. This was followed in 1991 by Elizabeth Engstrom's LIZZIE BORDEN, published by Tom Doherty Associates Book. Now it's the PearTree Press's venture with, LIZZIE BORDEN, THE GIRL WITH THE PANSY PIN. Not only is the title long, but at 562 pages, the longest novel written about Lizzie Borden and the murders. Only Leonard Rebello's book LIZZIE BORDEN PAST AND PRESENT and PARALLEL LIVES, by Michael Martin and Dennis Binette, is longer.

If you would like to buy the book, it is being sold by the Fall River Historical Society as a pre-order for $20 until August 4th. Release date is August 4th. It's a great read.

Thank you, Stefani.

A jock: NancyDrew and you are you sisters?

When you read me, do you have the impression that it is that little dog who is speaking to you? My identity photo in the forum is that of my dog-son Skipper, just a dynamic and lovely creature. He says Hello to everyone!

LOL, no Franz, I"m not sisters with anyone here. In fact, I don't have a sister! I love the picture of your dog, Skipper. Is he a Great Dane?

Thanks, Stefani - I just ordered my copy from the FRHS - I can't wait for it's arrival! Even though it is fiction, I'm sure it is going to be a fantastic read, being the author is Michael Brimbau!!!
