Has anyone ever done any paranormal studies in the Borden house? It would be extremely interesting to see if anyone could pick up any EVP.

This may sound odd, but now as I am finding these articles, I am beginning to wonder.....
During my second overnight stay, I was sleeping in Lizzie's room of the suite, and at the time it was around 5 am or so. I remember waking up for no reason and looking at the wall that the door to Emma's room is on (to the right of the bed). When I was looking at it, I heard a laugh, almost a chuckle. I immediately thaught it was Diane, but I looked at her while the laugh was laughing and she was snoring.
So in my head, I thaught it was a spirit giggling either at me, or just laughing. Everyone there thaught I was nuts, and I dismissed. The laugh made me feel very relaxed though, and almost seemed to say "everything's alright". So a week or so ago I was reading a topic on here and the title was "the laugh". So I clicked on it thinking "wouldn't it be funny if......". Sure enough I read about Lizzie laughing on the second floor of the house the day of the murders near her bedroom. Ok, heart started to pound. Tonight, I was reading one of the links above, and how they captured an evp laugh in the same bedroom. I wonder if I really did hear the spirit laugh? I would like to listen to the video and see how they compare!
The second stay was not as active as the first, but I did have numerous digital camera problems (Bridgette's room was bad luck), but lot's of confirmed orbs by triprg were caputred in my photos. The first stay we lots of activity in the basement with following a very fast moving spirit around. I cannot remmeber if I posted that one or not awhile ago, but I'll look for it. If I can't find it, I can post it again if you'd like. Next time I'll try some infared work and some evp action.
I would really like to develop my psycic ability - numerous people (even a stranger -- creepy) has told me to try and use it and believe in it becuase I have potential. It's not easy though.....
I can't wait to see the new rennovated B+B next time I go!!! Take care!

I believe you, and do believe in the paranormal. My sister died when I was 16, she was only 18 and we were very close. After she died, I swear I could hear her voice in my room when I was sleeping. Nobody believes me. She died of a brain tumor, and I remember she telling me she could hear ladies discussing hats in her dreams. I moved into her bedroom when she died, and I longed for more contact from her but it quietly faded away. My mother also had a similar experience where she thought she heard Robin talking to her. I used to pray and concentrate real hard to make her talk to me, i miss her so badly. I sometimes wonder if it is real or wishful thinking?

Thanks for sharing that, and I think that it is not just imagination; that spirits do try and communicate. I remember right after my grandpa died when I was in 4th grade the Sunday after I woke up in bed. I heard a voice say "Hi Mr. Ben!". He was the only one who called me that. I was little then and of course called (Yelled)for my mom. I remember it was very bright, I thaught it was early morning. So she said it was grandpa popping in to say hi! Now that I'm much older I still ask her about it, and she told me that when I called for her it was around 3:30 AM. It was dark outside but I remember the brightness of the room though so maybe he was there, but I didn't see him.
She also told me that my uncle saw his aparition in the appartment where he died and my uncle went running to him but he vanished. He never got to say goodbye to grandpa (his dad) before he died, and he saw him the same time and morning that I heard him. It made me feel very good that he was there, and sometimes I just know he's there, kind of like you and your sister, smudgeman. In a way it's very comforting.

I did not experience anything supernatural, but I did have problems with both my video camera and my 35 mm camera. In the cellar my flash would not go off, and my video camera did not capture any of the cellar either. I thought it was just bad luck though. On my video you can see me only going down the steps, and then coming back up the steps. Which I thought was odd because I did not press any buttons while I was down there.

Stef has a huge number of house photos and a full video shot all over the house and especially the cellar.
This video was in 1997. It's on a disc in my drawer.
The photos are from different visits over time.
No orbs, no nothing.
I don't think she personally believes in ghosts. Maybe it takes a believer to catch something?
I used to think otherwise- that these things happen to shock the unbeliever, but maybe that theory is wrong.

Well except for the problems in the cellar, I had no trouble photograhing or video taping the rest of the house.Or anywhere else that I visited that I wanted to video tape or photograph. I video taped most of Battleship Cove, the carousel, etc..with no problems. I have read stories of equipment malfunctioning, but I do not think anything happened to me except some bad luck.If I would have the same problem on my next visits, then I might start to wonder. So maybe your theory is right Kat to some extent in my case. I believe in ghosts, but there has to be enough credible evidence, or some event that cannot be explained any other way to cause me to believe it was "otherworldly".

I grew up in a house built in 1676. Our sea side home was built in the 1400's and started falling down in the 1700's and still is!
I never once saw a ghost, experienced a cold spot, lost a camera function, etc. It makes me mad because I do believe there are things we can not explain. I am open to them-- so why won't they visit me? Actually-- no one in my family has ever admitted to seeing one.
But... And this is odd-- I believe that to appear a spirit must temporarily harness the energy of the person or persons present at the time. By this I mean they must somehow use that person's eyes, ears, etc. They are not just present to any and everyone there...
I sort of think the reason I do not and have not seen them is that they are not attracted to my energy.
The same with psychics. We all radiate an energy and a person who is psychic's energy is on a special wavelength that other's can reach out to. deja vu is a good example-- we all have pretty much felt it. I think it takes a very minute amount of our energy and since it is within ourselves it sort of boomerangs back at us...
Anyway... Now you all know I have weird ideas about things!

The persistence of memory in the brain cells?
It was Farmer William in the Bedroom with the Hatchet.

Well, it wasn't brain cells that pushed me down the stairs in a house I was investigating, it was two hands on my back and no human behind me! I was too mad to be scared because I have bad knees and I didn't appreciate the fall. I told that spook off. Also I have photographs that I took myself showing paranormal activity, and trust me, that wasn't brain cells either!
