I Did It! is a recorded dream by Donel Fattibene. She records her dream of Emma coming to her and telling her how she committed the murders and why she left Maplecroft.
Has anyone else read it? What are your thoughts or views on it? I have to say, it *could* be a viable way of committing the murders (oh, in the book, "Emma" claims that she only set out to kill Abby but had to kill Andrew, too).
I personally believe the author is off her rocker, so to say. It did get me to thinking that I haven't really found much on Emma and her life.

Hey Mystery!
Personally, am a believer that Emma played a bigger role than anyone of us can imagine. It is difficult to find any information specific to Emma's personality prior and post murders. As most of us go by facts (I appreciate that), we tend to discount her based on lack of facts.
I won't be surprised if we found any facts, through documents with Robinson's law firm, letters, discovery of the hatchet handle, Andrew Borden's will, or anything else. I am keen to read this book you mention of.
Absence of proof is not a proof of Absence in my books.

Hey Curiousmind,
I won't spoil it then, and tell you how "Emma" said she did it (it does sound plausible though), but she mentioned that she threw the hatchet/axe into the Quequechan River (I've not looked into this river or where it is in location to where the murders occurred).

Re: I Did It!
Mystery Reader have you read Victoria Lincoln's book?
I find her theory wacky! However, she did mention a few things that still makes me believe light was not thrown onto many details.
She quotes that it was a very hot day. A flustered thin man in a buggy was noticed outside the Borden house. No one bothered about his identity, assuming that the horse needed some shade under the tree on a hot day. Couple of people passing by noticed it along with a shop keeper/stable operator. However, just before the news of murders broke out, the horse buggy had disappeared.
One of my sources, has a connection with a person, whose great-grandfather happened to be a part of Lizzie's defense team. She stated that the defense team was convinced that Emma did it. They felt very comfortable with the fact that the prosecutors were headed in the wrong direction.
I personally have not come across any documentation of proof in regards to Emma's whereabouts on the morning of the murder. I do not believe the Brownell's in Fairhaven were ever interrogated about it either (If you got the proof, let me know).
In my prior posting " The night before the murder"; I had mentioned the fact that no one saw Lizzie or Bridget enter the house. They heard someone heading towards Lizzie's room. But it was implied that was Lizzie. Also, I don't trust Bridget. I think she knew a lot more than she spilled out. I won't be surprised if Emma, came in with or after her. Uncle Morse, residing in South Dartmouth was unbelievably close to Fairhaven. We can only form a conjecture if it was merely a coincidence or, things were planned out in unison. Most are seeking a single culprit for the crime. However, everyone discounts a possibility of accomplices. I believe there was only one murdered but along with many accomplices.
Btw, the Quequechan river is walking distance from the Borden home. To add more possibilities, it can be on the way to a US Post office on Pleasant St, Fall River, MA. I wonder if that was the same post office Dr. Bowen rode to.

Re: I Did It!
Curious,
No, I haven't read Victoria Lincoln's book. I am reading Parallel Lives, though (amongst others). I do know that Emma was at friends or with relatives (I don't recall the name off hand) but I think it was in Fairhaven. I'll have to look it up (there are previous posts as to where Emma was that morning).
Off hand, I can't tell you where Uncle Morse was (it's been a few weeks since I've read much about this case). If you haven't looked yet, try the search bar at the upper right to look up Emma and then, Uncle Morse.
I believe that there was 1 murderer but that it wasn't Lizzie and that he/she had an accomplice.

Re: I Did It!
Emma was staying with her old friends the Brownells, mother and middleaged daughter at Fairhaven.
Uncle John had come to stay overnight with the Bordens on the Wednesday afternoon. I have come to believe that, whether unconsciously or deliberately, Uncle Foghorn Leghorn was responsible for leaking information to his nieces about who their father intended to leave some of his money and property to, in the weeks before the murders. It was said in some newspaper reports that Emma and Lizzie would visit their uncle at Darmouth.
On the Thursday morning John Morse was visiting a niece and nephew who were from the mid-West and staying at Weybossett St in Fall River with another relative, Mrs Emery. He didn't know these family members very well. He left the Borden house at about 8:40 am, first went to the Post Office to post a letter to a male relative, William Vinnicum of Swansea, and then to his relations. He came back by horse car and arrived back at no. 92 after the bodies were found, at about 11:40 am.
