The Munster Mansion

Post by Fargo »

Has anyone else checked out the Munster Mansion at http://www.munstermansion.com/ ? It's a replica of the munster house from the tv show. This is a real house while the one from the tv show is just a facade. Sorry I don't know how to paste links yet.

That was interesting, thanks Tony. Boy, those people must really love the Munsters! I recall seeing the original on a studio tour and at the time they were using it for the house in a Marlo Thomas remake of Its A Wonderful Life. If I remember correctly, isn't the house they used in The Legend of Lizzie Borden next door or really close to the Munster house?

I am not sure how I did that, I just typed the address in and it was a live link. Mabe it's automatic or something I thought you had to paste or cut it to get it to do that.

I don't know about the house from the lizzie borden movie but the phsyco house (or a house that resembles it) is close to the munster house. It would be something to have the house from the legend of lizzie borden movie, the munster house, the physco house, the amityville horror house and the nightmare on elm street house all side by side on one street.

Thanks for posting the link to this, Fargo. I couldn't take 'the mansion tour', tho. All I could get into was their Halloween party pics.

I'm a big fan of The Munsters. I just loved it as a kid. I'll still watch it, if I happen to see it on.

I think my favorite episodes are the "Zombo" one. And when Herman thinks this toy Frankenstein is his new son, he tickles it under the chin, and its head pops off. Oh, and the Fregosi ring.

I loved the Munsters too but not that much. Cool house though. As they said, the rooms are not in the same spots as they are in the show but who cares. Neat house. They forgot the TV antena on the roof.

I've always had a dream of building a house that resembles one out of "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", the 1919 silent film. All those crooked windows and walls that are not straight. Neat-o!

Tell me, Susan, you mentioned Marlo Thomas doing a remake of "A Wonderful Life." Did you see that movie and if you did is there a scene where Marlo and her husband are staying warm in a barn, talking about their life together while people are out searching in the snow for their son who was missing? It seems I remember Marlo Thomas in a film with that scene in it but I never could track down the title. I thought I would scratch your brain on this one. Thanks.
