The MAN INSIDE THE CHIMNEY@92 and other ghosts

Has anyone heard about the man who lives inside of the chimney at 92 and will only look at you when you take his photo.........?

I find that as time goes on there appears that two schools of thought are being assembled about how the Borden House at 92 should be presented.

You have your real "Serious Types" who wish to keep the house "Real," that is, a murder scene that deserves serious critical note.

Then their is the other "Fun Camp," who's desire is to have fun and amusement with the house, making it spooky and haunting. (And their are those in this camp who are convinced the house is haunted.)

What say you?

Here are three different photos I took on Thursday of the inside of the chimney. I see a face in each one and it does look like Andrew (or Abe Lincoln!). The first shot was without a flash (my fancy camera did the adjusting for darkness) but the other two were with a flash.

I have no idea how the face appears---but I guess there might be a number of reasons. I am not a ghost face believer, but it is strange. Could be the way the soot from the chimney collected and we see the image because our brain wants to see it. It could be happenstance. Any ideas?

Wow! I am probably the world's number one skeptic about these kinds of things -- but saw the face immediately. Neat photos, Stef. I'm so happy that your both your talk and your trip were so wonderfully successful!

And you are totally forgiven for not 'blogging' on MondoLizzie. I think everyone but you realized that was a pretty ambitious promise.

Cool Stefani: Hey listen, how come when we were there it sort of looked like Andrew Borden, now it kind of looks like Marylin Monroe? Have you been shaking the camera again?

This was in the cellar? I missed it. That's OK. Thanks for the pictures!

While upstairs in the Parlour, Lee-ann brought out a file folder of *paranormal* style pictures- orbs? Mists? I'm not sure. I left the room because I didn't want to see them this trip because I was staying there.
I think the contents of the file appeared interesting to others.

Darling Kat, when you were at the house, was the psychic Glenn Teza still there?

I see a "face" too. Or something similar to what a face looks like!

I see (really!) Alfred E. Newman. See the ears and the big cheeks?

Shelley says people say that it is Andrew. Probably the after effect of all that Luminol spraying!

The day we were to stay I had heard there was a psychic nightly and/or Ouija or a seance.
I was perturbed because my advance wishes were to not be exposed to that. Thankfully, there was nothing of the kind going on while I was there. I don't know if the House accommodated me, and the psychic stuff was put off whilst I was there, or if it was a night off for that. Whatever the reason, I was very happy to not be exposed to that and felt extremely comfortable there. It was a very nice visit.

Wow, that is bizarre! The more I look at it the more I see a woman's face though it appears kind of cartoony looking. That certainly would have given me the heebie-jeebies if I had been in the cellar alone while photographing the chimney.

You know, according to various and sundry behavorists, we're "wired" to see human faces in random patterns. Just thouight I'd throw that in. It explains a lot of the viewings of the Virgin Mary in grilled-cheese sandwiches, too.

I see faces in my terrazzo floors constantly.
But it's always different.
This seems consistent which is strange...

I am a skeptic usually but this one has me intrigued. Some days the eyes are open, and sometimes closed. Spooky! The guests love it and snap zillions of photos in the dark and with that naked light bulb in the laundry room on. There's a certain resemblance to the well-known photo of Andrew. Marilyn Monroe? Well, they both DID exit this side of the veil August 4th!

And then there's the face of the Phantom Cat which appears nightly in the burled walnut of Abby and Andrew's headboard! One guest last week actually brought a catnip mouse for the Ghost Kitty so fouly "done in" by hatchet and or Chloroform! Honest, you can't make this stuff up!

Well, Alice, we are sleeping with one eye open. . . .
Actually one seldom sleeps in that house as guests are up having too much fun all night. The guestroom is difficult, the air conditioner makes Liz Montgomery's dress wave to and fro, the mirror is there also to catch surprise reflections when one pops up nervously in bed. Mostly I feel "safest" in Lizzie's old tiny room or Abby's dressing room. Sort of comfort in cocooned small spaces! And I NEVER sleep without a night light. Besides, everyone knows nuthin' can getcha under the covers!

I have to go with Bob on the faces. If I look long enough at any random shapes, I begin to see detailed figures and faces, but I believe my brain is hunting for order in chaos: that's its job. And once I see a shape, it always comes back when I look again. I may see additional figures, but the original one is what my brain always goes back to. Hate to be a wet blanket. I do sort of see Andrew, but not too amazingly, and I think not supernaturally.
