Can someone refresh my memory on the Ax. It was never found, right?
An Ax was found on top of the house a few years later but nobody knows if it was the AX used to Killed andrew & abby or if someone put it there as a Joke. right?

The actual murder weapon has never been positively identified. There were about two or three hatchets in Lizzie's house and I think one axe but none have been labeled as "the" weapon. It appears that the hatchet found on the Crowe's roof had been covered in rust so I don't know if it was up there before the killings or not. It was probably left up there by a roofer. I doubt Lizzie would have tossed it up there considering the racket it would have made.
In fact we don't know for sure if it was a hatchet. It is possible that it could have been a meat cleaver that Lizzie could have washed and put back in it's place. While the police were looking for a hatchet the cleaver could have been "hiding" in plain sight. It appears that Lizzie never left the property after her father's death so what did she do with the hatchet? Where did it go? It opens some interesting questions.
