Rule #1 - Do not marry a man named Peterson!
I was home with a wrenched back yesterday and watched Matt Lauer interview Officer Drew Peterson, now a suspect in the death of his third wife and the disappearance of his fourth wife. This reminded me that Mrs. Michael Peterson, of whom I've written, did not end up so well, apparently beaten to death and left at the bottom of a stairway by her husband. Neither did Mrs. Scott Peterson, she of the infamous Christmas Eve murder.
Ladies, be warned!

But then synchronicity really attacked me when I got my HATCHET late yesterday and saw that the man with the Ellan Eagan tales was named Peterson! Then, at home, I fell into watching FRIGHT NIGHT, one of fave vampire films and, in watching the credits, saw the female lead character was named "Amy Peterson!"
If that's not enough, I had a client with the name Seamus yesterday and, lo and behold, Doug Walters placed a Seamus in his HATCHET story, too!

More Drew Peterson, this time with his attorney, on "Today" this morning. His affect was even more suspect than last time. Like our dear Lizzie, he will NOT be pinned down. I half-expected him to answer one of Matt Lauer's questions (the ones his attorney let him answer) with something like "I believe it was seven years ago, when the river froze and they all went over, was it not?"

I've always thought the lawyer's remark was uncalled for, too. I could understand it if Lizzie's attitude was condescending and the attorney thought she needed to be put in her place. Unfortunately, the court records are one-dimensional, they lack body language.Kat @ Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:38 pm wrote:The curt reply would have been: "I am not answering questions, but asking them."
That was a mean thing to say, I always thought.

You're right, Kat... Also, look out for men with the middle name "Wayne". Even worse, if the first name happens to be John AND middle name Wayne... I recently heard some statistic about the number of well-known violent offenders / murderers with that combo...Kat @ Thu Nov 15, 2007 7:30 pm wrote:
Also look out for men with the middle name "Lee!"

I often wonder what Scott Peterson thinks about when he is sitting in his cell. I wonder if he thinks murdering his wife and child was worth the price he is now paying. Whatever is thoughts are I hope they haunt him until the day he rots!
