With all the hoopla going on with the elections, I wonder what Lizzie think? I bet she would love all this stuff!

I don't think we know enough about her politics, or lack thereof, her views of race, her political persuasion, her interest in the world at large, to make any sort of assessment.

I wish we did . . . . but without some rather specific examples, even anecdotal, about what she thought about anything other than animals, I am afraid we are all in the dark about Lizzie's attitudes and choices.

I don't even think we can offer an educated guess . . . .

Wel, I mean with her getting into the womens right to vote, I think she might think would be fantastic that we'd have a woman on the republican ticket and stuff.

Ahhh! But we can try Stefani............

Lizzie was probably a free thinker, an avant-garde conservative, with a bohemian lifestyle, thus beyond and above, not to mention, no time for politics.

She lived in her own world and damn the neighborhood, the city, the country. "Elect who you may. What do I care. I'm off to New York to do some shopping and perfect my collective social connections."

"An African American for President"? My-my and to think I moved out of 92 2nd street to get away from those Irish........oh well who cares, who has the time, the car is waiting, no time to waste, off to Providence and Tilden Thurber to do some shopping and look at some porcelain paintings."

Yes, Again:

Another question for Lizbeth here in Massachusetts where she lived is:

What would Lizzie think about the new MARIJUANA law in the Bay State?

And, would she not be happy with the new law ending GreyHound racing in her State. This is one issue we can be sure about. Three Cheers from Maplecorft.

well, we had a woman on the ticket before this (in 1984---24 years ago!), so Palen was not a new thing this go-around. I thought you were referring to Obama.

I'm confused here? Are we talking about Lizzie Obama or Emma Palen?

Snokkums, I think there is a misapprehension about Lizzie and politics which is at the root of your question.
Lizzie was involved in Temperance and her Church and the Hospital (for a little time)- but as for the Suffragettes, we don't know anything about that - only that Mrs. Livermore was interested in Lizzie's case.
Was there a website or something you read that has Lizzie involved with the Right To Vote up 'til c. 1920? I know you read a lot of stuff.
