Has Rebecca Pittman Solved the Lizzie Borden Case?

A new book released in December of 2016, The History and Haunting of Lizzie Borden, by Rebecca Pittman, purports to have solved the Lizzie Borden murder mystery.

I am still in the reading process of this tome (915 pages), and find it interesting and thorough in its attempt to leave no stone unturned—so I cannot comment yet on what I think of her theory. But I do recommend the book not only because it is a new approach to the case, but because the book is written with a great deal of heart and research.

An article appears today in the Loveland (Colorado) newspaper that you might find enlightening in which Rebecca and her husband talk about the book and how it developed from her discovery of  the identities of two men who witnesses spotted at the Borden home the day of the murders.

I will say that Rebecca believes that Lizzie was totally guilty of the crimes and refers to her as a sociopath throughout—an idea of her I personally don’t cotton to. That said, I am always eager to read new works on the case and pay a lot of attention to any new facts and information that is revealed. I am happy to say, Rebecca seems to have discovered some NEW things!

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.

Here we go. Enjoy.
