Lizzie Borden Chronicles

Lizzie Borden Chronicles to Air April 5

Lifetime’s new limited series, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, has been given an air date of Sunday, April 5th.

From Lizzie Borden Chronicles.

According to this press release, the production will star Christina Ricci and Clea DuVall who will reprise their roles as Lizzie and Emma Borden. The show also stars Jonathan Banks, John Heard, Cole Hauser, and Jessy Schram.

To those who are upset with any airing of a fictional account of the Borden story, I say relax. No one is making you watch. And the rest of us enjoy good outrageous storytelling, even if an historical character is misused in the process. No one owns Lizzie Borden or her story. Expect a completely unfamiliar Fall River, Massachusetts, fictional characters who never existed but resemble real ones, and axions (pun intended) by Lizzie that tax the imagination. All in the name of entertainment. I am all for it.

Reports the release from Lifetime: “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles delivers an intense and fictionalized account of actual events and people surrounding Lizzie’s life after her controversial acquittal of the horrific double murder of her father and stepmother in 1892, when the exonerated figure lives a life awash in newfound celebrity filled with scandalous love affairs. But when numerous people close to Lizzie – ranging from her half-brother William (Andrew Howard, Hatfields & McCoys) to Broadway luminaries and her business associate/underworld kingpin Mr. Flowers (Emmy nominee Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad) – start to mysteriously die under brutal and strange circumstances, legendary Pinkerton detective Charlie Siringo (Cole Hauser, Good Will Hunting) becomes determined to prove her involvement in their ultimate demise. Jessy Schram (Falling Skies) plays Nancy O’Keefe, an alluring and ambitious actress and dancer who befriends Lizzie, and Emmy nominee John Heard (The Sopranos) portrays William Almy, the business partner of Lizzie’s murdered father, Andrew.”

I, for one, am looking forward to the show. Maybe there will be another Lizzie Borden premiere party!

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.

Here we go. Enjoy.
