August 4th 1892, Fall River, Massachusetts: The gruesome double axe murder of Andrew and Abby Borden, parents to the refined socialite Lizzie Borden, remains one of America’s most interesting unsolved crimes. Put on trial and eventually acquitted, Lizzie never escaped public scrutiny and was condemned by the sensationalist media.
